Variety of washing systems can be adopted for tank cleaning e.g. machine, rock & roll or spot cleaning. |
|
Machine Washing :
- Use 2 to 3% GREASE
- OFF at 55 to 65ēC with continous stripping.(Inject correct
Volume of GREASE - OFF into the water line). Rinse tank with water at ambient temperature.
- For circulation : Make 2 to 3% solution in the circulation tank, heat at 55 to 65ēC (dependent on the type of soil) and proceed as above.
|
|
Rock & Roll :
Fill tanks to be cleaned with water adding GREASE - OFF during filling to ensure complete mixing and correct concentration. Keep heating coils on full
heat till correct temperature is reached. Strip tank after 24 hours and rinse. |
|
Manual Cleaning :
Use 5 to 10% concentration in hot water at about 55ēC and thoroughly scrub
the areas to be cleaned with brush. |
|
Safety Precautions :
Though mildly alkaline, rubber gloves and aprons are recommended while
working with Solution. In case of splash in eyes or on skin, wash with plenty of
fresh water. |

RUSTKLEEN 58 - H.D. Rust remover |
Description :
RUSTKLEEN 58 is a heavy duty rust remover which should be used whenever rust or stains have formed, both to remove them and give
surface a temporary rust resisting top layer. It can be used on
decks, engine room, cargo holds etc. Also, it is used for removing
rust stains from wood, glass & ceramics etc. It conforms to the
defence specification DEF 37 as Rust Remover.

Method of Application :
To remove light deposits spray 25 % (V/V) solution of RUSTKLEEN 58. The process may be repeated at a
suitable interval till all the rust is removed or loose. The
surface is then brushed, washed clean and free of rust.
In case of heavy scales or rust, solution may be heated to 60ēC and then applied to parts.
For brush application 40 to 50 % solution is recommended. Apply the solution, allow it to react for 5 to 15
minutes and then rinse with water. It produces a flash phosphate
coating by reaction with oxide and a good base for painting also.
Packing :
40 Kg Plastic Carboys.
Precautions :
RUSTKLEEN 58 contains highly acidic ingredients and hence avoid contact with skin. Use rubber or PVC gloves for continous
working with solution.

ARKLEEN 501 - Air cooler cleaner |
Description : During the operation, the fins and tubes of the main engine air
cooler which become fouled with oil, grease, dust and carbaceous
deposits which reduce the efficiency of air coolers, air
compressors, exhaust valves and other equipments.
ARKLEEN 501 penetrates the deposits, dissolves oil and grease
which can be washed away with water jet.
Chemical Composition :
ARKLEEN 501 is a combination of highly effective solvents,
detergents and corrosion inhibitors.

Method of Application :
For in place without dismantling : Put sufficient quantity of
ARKLEEN 501 with 2 parts of water in a drum. By using a
suction hose connecting one end to spray distributor and other
to pump discharge, continously spray the parts till equipment is clean
by visual inspection. After cleaning, purge and vent the equipment
with air to remove solvent vapours. Rinse the equipment with water.
- Hand Spray : Remove air trunk or access door. Spray ARKLEEN
501 with a paint spray gun. When soiled parts are completely
saturated with solvent cleaner, apply water hose and wash the deposits
off the air cooler.
- For in
- service cleaning : In regular use 30 - 35 emulsion with
fresh water and may be sprayed to obtain minimum results.
|
Precautions :
Wear goggles and rubber gloves while handling. Avoid prolonged
breathing of vapours. In case of accidental splashing in eyes,
wash with planty of water.
Packing :
30 Liters/200 Liters drums.
Storage
Store away from open flame. |

1.13 ELKLEEN 705 - Electro cleaner |
|
Description :
ELKLEEN 705 is a solvent based degreasing chemical which is
used for cleaning of motors, starters, switchgears, generation
armatures, brushes, bearings, instruments etc. It can be used
where rapid and effective degreasing is required. It is safe to use
on all metals, glasses, painted surface etc. It has excellent
moisture repelling property and does not conduct electricity.
Methods of Application :
Spray or dip the parts in ELKLEEN 705 and remove the parts.
Chemical Properties :
It is a blend of organic solvents chosen for their excellent degreasing and cleaning properties, together with
their use in safety. This blend has got the evaporation rate equivalent
to carbon tetrachloride but is less toxic than it.

1.14 CARBKLEEN 515 - Carbon cleaner |
Description :
CARBKLEEN 515 is a chemical compound mainly used for cleaning all carbonised engine and machine parts. It also removes burnt oils, old paint residues and grease. |
Method of Application :Soaking of the parts is the most efficient method, however spraying or brushing directly on the parts will also remove the carbonised matter
ffectively. In case of very heavy deposits they should be allowed to soak for a longer period and if necessary they should be wirebrushed. Then the surface should
be completely wiped off with a clean cloth. CARBKLEEN 515
not only cleans the part but also provides a temporary barrier
against corrosion.
CARBKLEEN 515 can be stored in M.S. tank but as a safety precaution tank should be tightly covered with lid. To suppress the evaporation rate, a thin water barrier can be provided without affecting the quality.
Carbon can be removed without the use of any external heating
arrangement and hence no power is required. As it contains wetting an emulsifying agents, life of the product is prolonged. |

Method of Application :
- For Tank Cleaning : The correct volume of BITKLEEN 725 is dispersed over the surface and sufficient fresh or salt water is added to give the concentration of about 2 -3 %. The tank is filled in just above the normal working level. Contents of the tank are
then agitated by air or circulated by a pump at least for 24 hours. Heating by immersion heaters or steam may be necessitated in
certain areas.
- An Alternative Cleaning method which may be adopted to bilges or heavily soiled tanks involve spraying the contaminated surface by neat BITKLEEN 725 allowing the later to soak into soil
for about 1 hour and then hosing off with water. When cleaning
is completed the suspension of oil and water may be pumped to seperator vessel or centrifugal seperation may be employed.

Precautions
:
Being based on hydrocarbons solvents, the inhalation of vapours
for prolonged period may be avoided. Also, store away from the
open flame.
